“How I Walk and Bike Safely” Poster Contest

Hey kids, do you know how to walk and ride your bike safely? 

If so, then you’re invited to create a poster illustrating how.

The Somerset County Traffic Safety Alliance is partnering with RideWise to host a “How I Walk and Bike Safely” poster contest.

Rules and eligibility:
The contest is open to all Somerset County students in grades K-6.  Students can submit one hand-drawn poster that portrays how to ride a bike or to walk safely. 

 
Posters should be submitted on 11x17 paper; hand drawn by markers, colored pencils or crayons only.  Only original work will be considered (no magazine cutouts).

The student’s name, school, grade level, teacher’s name & e-mail address must be written on the back of the poster. Please do not fold posters.
 
Students are encouraged to include an original slogan or title on their posters.

Deadline:The deadline for submissions is 4:00 P.M. on May 15, 2013.  Posters may be mailed or delivered to RideWise, 360 Grove Street, Bridgewater, NJ.

Winners:
The winning entries will be determined based on how well the poster portrays how to ride a bike or walk safely. One winner will be accepted from each grade for a total of seven winners.  Winners will be selected in seven grade categories:  Kindergarten, 1st. 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade. Each winner will receive one reflective safety vest, two reflective arm bands, one clip on light and one $25 savings bond.

Your comment will be sent to the artist.

Go back to Art Museum (at the top of the page) and begin again.


 
            All students kindergarten through 4th grade attend one 40 minute art class each six day cycle. That equates to 28 times in the entire school year.
